Founder & CEO

I’m Alana Persson — a storyteller at heart, a strategist by trade, and the founder of Slingshot Storytelling. With over a decade of experience spanning journalism, nonprofit leadership, and digital marketing, I specialize in helping mission-driven brands, organizations, and individuals clarify their message and share it with confidence.

I believe storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to create connection, inspire trust, and drive meaningful change. My work goes beyond content creation — I build thoughtful strategies rooted in clarity, compassion, and purpose, helping clients bring their ideas to life through authentic messaging, impactful design, and strategic digital presence. Whether guiding a website build, shaping a brand’s voice, or crafting a content strategy from the ground up, I lead with curiosity, empathy, and a journalist’s attention to detail.

When I’m not working on mission-aligned projects, you can usually find me outside — skiing Colorado’s mountain slopes in the winter, paddle boarding and hiking in the summer, taking yoga classes under the trees, or wandering a local farmers market. In the fall of 2024, I took a brief sabbatical to fulfill a lifelong dream of walking the Camino de Santiago — a 500-mile pilgrimage from Saint Jean-Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Advocacy and activism are core to who I am, both personally and professionally. Whether working alongside at-risk young adults at True North Polaris House — a home for youth aging out of foster care — volunteering at food banks, or contributing to nonpartisan election reform to ensure everyone has access to the ballot box, I am deeply committed to using my skills to help build a more equitable world. I love partnering with nonprofits, small businesses, and organizations that share these values.
